We are glad to invite your organisations to participate in the International Seminar - Youth Investing in a Healthy Environment to be held in Signagi, Georgia in April 21-26, 2010.
Specific objectives of the project are:
- To discuss the best practice of promoting knowledge and appreciation for the environment among the youth;
- To share the experience and knowledge on environmental stewardship and sustainable development between the local and foreign organisations;
- To empower youth organisations by improving participants’ leadership skills in areas of environmental stewardships and sustainable development;
- To educate youth about environment, ecology, biodiversity, waterways, and wildlife of South Caucasus Region;
- To discuss the short and long term strategy plans for environment protection and sustainable development actions in Europe.
Main program elements:
- Lectures about current situation regarding environmental problems and protection actions in Europe, particularly in South Caucasus region;
- Working groups and discussions about environment protection activities of participants’ organisations;
- Meeting with the nongovernmental and governmental organisations working on environmental protection;
- Developing platforms for joint activities and coordinated programs;
- ntercultural evenings and sightseeing.

Profile of Participants: Representatives of the youth organisations working on environmental and sustainable development issues will be invited and selected upon the application procedures using the criteria of motivation, experience, organisations’ recommendation, gender and geographical balance.
Eligible age: 18 – 30 years old.
All candidates should:
- Be able to work in English;
- Be committed fully to attend the course and be supported by their youth organization.
Financial conditions:
- Organizers will cover the expenses of the local transportation, accommodation, meals as well as the cultural program for the participants;
- Participants will receive up to 70% of their travel and visa costs (maximum of 300 EURO), Participants are expected to use the most economic and ecological means of transport. We strongly encourage you to use train, bus and/or ferry as the main means of travel. Please remember that if you want to receive travel reimbursement, you need to bring all tickets, and receipts;
- Participation fee (20 Euro) will be deducted from travel reimbursement.
