Cazalla Intercultural is looking for 2 EVS volunteers for a 9-month project in Lorca, Murcia, Spain. The project is about fighting integration difficulties of recently arrived migrants in Lorca. The work consists in preparing and offering a wide, varied programme of education and leisure activities for those young people who are not integrated in the social life which will allow them to know other young people in town and break their isolation.
We are looking for 2 volunteers with following profiles:
The first person:
- Needs to have experience in working with international projects, good knowledge of Youth in Action Programme, preference to office work and basic level of Spanish.
- The EVS volunteer will be working as a support in coordination of European projects like youth exchanges and training courses by maintaining contact with organizations’ partners. There is some space for personal ideas and projects.
- Dates: 1st of September 2010 – 1st of June 2010
The second person:
- Needs to have experience in working with young people, motivation and enthusiasm to cooperate with them. Experience in intercultural environment and intermediate level of Spanish are crucial. Creativity and initiative are welcomed.
- This EVS volunteer will be helping in organizing workshops and courses for local community as well as for European Projects like youth exchanges.
- For this post there is a strong preference for a person that likes to organize his/her own job and is able to come up with ideas.
- Dates: 15th of July 2010 – 15th of April 2010
Since the organization is working with immigrants in the city of Lorca working tasks of both volunteers will include public attention and support of local immigrants within the Municipalities Offices of Mobility and Youth and Cultural Diversity. Example of the tasks: working in the Internet room, solving daily problems of immigrants like creating CV, looking for work, giving information about Spanish courses etc.
