We have participated in three Comenius projects from 2001 with primary schools from 10 European countries. At the moment we are the coordinator school of the project “songs and games from our land” (2009-2011). Our school has also been included in other European projects as European Portfolio, Language Assistants, Arion, Bedmur and Brismur.
Timetable (deadline…): 2011-2013.
We pretend our pupils would be nearer to Nature, learning from it, studying it, knowing it better, respecting it, protecting it and sharing what they learn with children in other European schools. In this way they would know how varied, amazing, interesting and funny Nature is in our land and in other parts of Europe. Knowing the differences, our schools will understand how fascinating is to accept our countries have a big environmental diversity under the same European spirit. (united in diversity).
Main objectives:
• To learn about various natural spaces around us and Europe.
• To wake up in the student sensation in the conservation of the natural environment.
• To involve the educational community in the valuation of the natural environment
• To discover the possibilities of alternative and non-polluting energies.
• To plan simple actions for recycling at home, at school and in the city.
• To contemplate the diversity of our students in order to get that this experience will motivate everyone in our schools.
• To appreciate the gifts offered by nature.
• To assess the consequences of climate change.
Main activities:
• Organization of visits to nature reserves.
• Realization of photos and drawings of the natural environment.
• Execution of plantations and actions of cleaning in nature.
• Elaboration of a guide about natural areas in our country.
• Design of table games.
• Recycling awareness actions.
• Drafting a code of good practice in nature.
• Creation of posters on the studied natural spaces.
• Pets and logo creation.
Final products:
• Guide to natural spaces (booklet and audiovisual - DVD-);
• Game of "trivial" on nature in Europe;
• Didactic unit globalized and adapted to the needs of students with Special Needs;
• Albums (photos) on nature in Europe;
• Files of flora and fauna;
• Multilingual vocabulary about nature in Europe;
• Exhibition on the natural diversity in Europe;
• Ecological agenda;
• Blog (on e-twinning) for sharing photos, rhymes and experiences.
