Our school is located in Çesmelisebil Town (Konya) Turkey and has 152 pupils. It is primary and secondary school and it takes 8 years. The pupils are between 6-14 years old. Our school has 11 classrooms a computer room .
Target Groups
Primary and secondary school students.(Age range 6-14)
Thematic Area
- Universal Science;
- Youth not consuming information and technology but producing them;
- Youth with original ideas;
- Students whose philosophy of life is science and technology;
- Lives and inventions of famous scientists in Turkey and in the World;
- Preparing a festival for presenting the projects and inventions of scientists;
- Presenting the projects and actions taken till now, designing a website to share the works in the future;
Aims of the Project
With this project, we aim to have students who study according to goals of education system of the era and students who search and have the talent of judgement. We also aim to have students with creative ideas and help them make their ideas and dreams come true. We believe that it can only be achieved by sharing information and experience. Furthermore we hope to help the improvement of the science and socialization among cultures by sharing our original ideas and knowledge. Besides, our students will make presentations of the famous scientists of Turkey and the World. So that we aim to have our students make the science their philosophy of life, learn about the famous scientists, follow their examples and live the joy of this project.
Planning Activities
- Introduction of partners about their culture and countries;
- Scientific projects that partner schools will do in their countries;
- Introductions of the famous scientists and their contributions to World by partner schools;
- Designing a web page to share the whole activities done during the project;
- Exhibition of the partner schools’ projects in Çesmelisebil Science Festival;
- Activities related to cultures and lives of the partners in Çesmelisebil Science Festival;
- Evaluation of the projects.
Expected Results
1. Scientific cruosity was awakened in students and they are provided to have experience in producing creative ideas.
2. The students made the observation ; they produced and developed their own ideas and products by asking the questions ‘’why?’’ and ‘’how?’’
3. Students used the scientific methods of study and they developed their problem-solving skills.
4. Students gained new perspectives by exploring that details of daily life can be explained by scientific methods.
5. Students could express ideas and solutions in their projects with written and spoken words and they won the ability to defend the basis of the projects.
6. Students learned to work in cooperation.
7. Students won to respect and tolerance different views.
8. Students recognized the different cultures and social lives.
Short Description
Our project based on Turkish filoz Jalaluddin Rumi –one of the greatest philosophers of his age says: ’come,come again,whoever you are , come !’These words about 700years ago give us important massages we have the thought that science is for to produce information for the benefit of all mankind without various of religions, various of language and racial differences. Based on this opinion, under a common umbrella to share knowledge, contribute to the advancement of science and activation generations to experience the thrill of them are aiming to produce something. We plan to create a common science pool in which we can share our knowledge accumulations and projects with other people.So,we think that both we will contribute to the science and we also will train conscious students about it. We also suppose that in this project , we will give a big chance our students to meet different cultures and to share scientific researches with other students. They negotiate the information with their partners and so it provides them great opportunity for socialization.Finally, they will have been learned to be polite one other and brain storm.
