Summary:
The Course aims to develop competence of teachers and educators working with children and youth in the pedagogical development of activities dealing with Human Rights Education for and with children by using non formal education methodologies.
Target group:
Trainers, Youth leaders, Youth workers, Teachers, Educators.
For participants from:
Youth in Action programme countries.
Group size: 15 participants.
Objectives:
The Training Organisation Trajectorya invites teachers, educators and adult learners from organisations and institutions working with children and youth to the training course on Human Rights Education for and with children. This educational project is supported by the Life Long Learning Programme of the European Commission through its Comenius and Grundtvig Actions.
Aims of the course
The Course aims to develop competence of teachers and educators working with children and youth in the pedagogical development of activities dealing with Human Rights Education for and with children by using non formal education methodologies.
The course will allow us to:
• Explore Children Rights in the broad European context;
• Experience methodologies and develop competences on Human Rights Education for and with children;
• Put into practice activities and resources on Human Rights Education;
• Develop future projects of cooperation.
Methodology
The course is designed to create the space were participants experience and reflect upon activities and concepts central to children rights and human rights education based on experiential learning approaches. The course is also planned as a space for mutual learning, where participants exchange their approaches to training especially regarding children rights issues, across Europe. The previous experience of participants, in the formal and non-formal sectors, will be the starting point of the programme and of the learning process. The course will be a space to present and practice the Manual of the Council of Europe on Human Rights Education for Children.
Profile of the participants
The course is open for 15 adult learners, teachers and educators coming from Life Long Learning Programme countries (EU,Turkey, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). The Training course will be carried out in English language!!! Therefore all participants should be able to fully participate in English.
Team of trainers
The programme of the course is designed and conducted by a multicultural team of experienced educators from the Council of Europe's trainers' pool. The team of trainers will be complemented by resource experts for specific parts of the course.
Deadline and Application procedure
All candidates must apply using the enclosed application form. Applications should be sent not later than Monday the 10th January 2011 by email. The preparatory team will select 15 participants on the basis of the profile outlined above and ensuring a balanced group (gender, geographical regions, different types of experiences, cultural backgrounds and organisations). All candidates will be informed about whether their application has been accepted in a couple of days. The accepted candidates will receive the course documentation and further technical and educational information directly from the organisers. Do not book your travel until your participation has been confirmed.
Financial and practical conditions of participation
The course is to be fully supported and granted by the LifeLong Learning Programme. Selected participants will directly receive the grant from their National Agency in each country. Travel, accommodation, meals and training costs will be fully covered by this grant. Therefore no cost will be on the participants. Once the selection is done, Trajectorya will send the official invitation together with detailed information and instructions on applying for the Comenius-Grundtvig Grant. You will have few days to proceed with the application to your National Agency, but as will see the application that you do here is basically the same you will need to answer for NA's.

Travel, Accommodation, meals and Training costs fully covered by the LifeLong Learning Programme grant.
