This is a call for organizations from SEE countries and for trainers both from SEE and EU. We're looking for partners who would like to take part in a training course for group leaders and non-formal education facilitators about creative thinking and writing tools. Training will happen from 05.08.11 to 12.08.11 somewhere a bit far from civilization near Baltic Sea, in Latvia.
Summary:
Training program "Thinker toys for educators" has been prepared for non-formal education facilitators, trainers and leaders of youth exchanges and initiatives in order to help them to foster creativity of teams and individual learners. Participants will explore various creative thinking techniques and strategies, idea evaluation methods, creative writing and storytelling tools that can be used in educational work with young people for numerous purposes: for idea generation, project writing, reflection, evaluation, personal development, for developing problem solving, critical thinking, teamwork and communication skills. Program includes mix of
simulations, group exercises, intercultural learning activities, discussions and theoretic inputs about creativity, non-formal learning and links among creativity, innovations, cultural diversity and sustainable development. Overall goal of this training course is to promote innovative and creative approaches in non-formal education and youth work and to develop participants' key competencies for lifelong learning. Project will gather 28 participants and experts from EU and SEE countries.
Target group:
We will expect 2 participants from each organization. Participants should be working and(or) planning to work in future as non-formal education facilitators or trainers, program is suitable also for teachers and lecturers. After completion of the training course participants are expected to organize in their home organizations a workshop about creative thinking and(or )writing. Length, content and target group of this workshop depends on interests and abilities of individual participants.
Objectives:
• To learn about different creative writing and creative thinking tools and their implementation in non-formal learning process.
• To learn attitudes and strategies that foster creative thinking of
individuals, creative working environment, innovations in organizations and teams.
• To improve meta-cognitive understanding of the participants about creative thinking processes.
• To create ideas for new projects, using innovative and creative
approaches, new forms, and until 01.02.2012 prepare and submit two YiA project applications, which have been elaborated in partnership of involved organizations.
Financial conditions:
Travel expenses (70%), travel insurance, accommodation and catering will be covered with financial support from Youth in Action Programme. In addition each partner will receive small support for organizing follow-up event (for purchasing office supplies, printing, copying, renting premises, refreshments) in amount up to 60 EUR. Cover of expenses for organizing follow-up event together with cover of participants' travel expenses will be transferred to the bank account of each Sending Organization in two weeks after receipt of original travel tickets, bills for organizing follow-up event, invoice from partner summarizing all the expenses and report from the participants about organized workshop.
Call for trainers:
With this we send also call for trainers for this project. We'll form team of 3-4 trainers representing involved partner-organizations. If
interested, please, send me your CV, suggestions and comments on proposed program and description of themes you'd be competent to train about.
