Within the frame of the European year of volunteering, we are planning to organize a leaders training for future leaders and coordinators of workcamps and/or youth exchanges. We will apply at the 1st of February deadline of Youth in Action and the training will take place from 4th to 8th of May 2011 in Sicily, Italy, inside the natural reserve "Biviere di Gela". The training is aimed to provide a group (15 participants, max two from each partner organization) of potential leaders with skills and competencies to organize a youth exchange and/or a voluntary camp and to lead an international group of participants/volunteers. Language of the course will be English. Training will be base on peer-to-peer approach and coached by a group of experienced activists.
Financial conditions:
No participation fee. 100% of board and lodging provided by us. 90% of travel reimbursement provided by us. In order to provide 90% of travel reimbursement, strict rules are applied (i.e. it is not possible for international participants to enter Italy more than two days before the training and to leave Italy more than two days after the end of the training).
Profile of participants:
The training is open to both experienced and non experienced volunteers. Preference will be given to participants who are willing to co-ordinate exchanges and/or youth exchanges already in summer 2011 in their home country or in Italy.
Partner organization profile:
NGOs or Institutions organizing workcamps and/or youth exchanges with voluntary service profile.Preference will be given to voluntary service organizations who are members or partners of international networks such as Alliance, SCI, YAP, ICYE.
Countries:
The call is open to organizations from Programme countries and countries from Eastern Europe and Caucasus.
