European Road Safety Charter - Workshop 1- International Road Safety activities in the decade to come

The workshop benefited from the participation of top personalities involved in road safety. Isabelle Kardacz, Head of Unit for Road Safety at the European Commission, presented the EU Road Safety policy orientations for 2011-2020. Dr. Dinesh Sethi, from the World Health Organization and David Ward, director of the FIA Foundation, introduced the UN decade of actions for Road Safety and the possibilities for the public, institutions and organisations to get involved. Emma MacLennan from The Eastern Alliance for Safe and Sustainable Transport, and Eric Remacle, in charge of Road Safety projects at the Nobel Prize winner NGO Handicap International, both presented an example of involvement beyond the EU borders, outside Europe. This workshop was moderated by Pierre-Antoine Ullmo, General Manager of P.A.U. Education.
