Details:
The Association of Human Rights Educators invites adult learners to the training course on Democratic Memorial focused on the Ebre Battle case. This educational project is supported by the Life Long Learning Programme of the European Commission through its Grundtvig Action.
Aims of the course:
The course mission is to develop understanding about remembrance and historical memory recovering, as instrument to foster long lasting peace and democracy. By using experiential methodologies, the course will allow participants to:
• Discuss the relevance of Memorial in peace building processes;
• Explore historical remembrance work in the broad European context;
• Experience the case of historical memory recovery of the Spanish Civil war and the the Ebre battle in particular.
• Enhance reconciliation with the past analysing its dilemmas and controversial points
Methodology:
The starting point of the learning methodology will be developed from the shared experiences of participants in the broad European context together with the experience developed through the visits and encounters in the same spaces of the Ebre battle. The course will include the exchange of experiences and its analysis as background contribution to mutual learning, is, therefore, an space to develop experience and reflect upon activities and concepts central to Human Rights and European Citizenship.
Profile of the participants:
The course is open for 15 adult learners, teachers and educators coming from Life Long Learning Programme countries (EU member states,Turkey, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). The Training course will be carried out in English language. Therefore all participants should be able to fully participate in English.
Team of trainers:
The programme of the course is designed and conducted by a multicultural team of experienced educators from the Council of Europe's trainers' pool. The team of trainers will be complemented by resource experts for specific parts of the course from Memorial Democratic, Catedra Unesco Peace and Human Rights, and COMEBE (Ebre battle memorial)
Costs:
The course costs are to be fully supported and granted by the LifeLong Learning Programme. Selected participants will need to submit their application together with the Official Invitation to their LLP National Agency in each country in order to receive the grant. Travel, accommodation, meals and training costs will be fully covered by this grant. Therefore no cost will be on the participants.
Once the selection is done, Ahead will send the official invitation together with detailed information and instructions on applying for the Comenius-Grundtvig Grant. You will have few days to proceed with the application to your LLP National Agency, but as will see the application that you do here is basically the same you will need to answer for NA's.
