Activity date: 29th of August – 4th of September 2011.
Place: Turda, Romania.
The goal of the project is to raise awareness of youth regarding excessive use of internet / computer at a point of becoming an addiction; pointing out the fact that outside activities and nature walks (nature learning experience) are not only important but can be very exciting. The objectives of the project are to foster mutual understanding between young people from different countries; to educate youth through sport and outdoor activities; to develop solidarity and promote tolerance through the fact that young people from different EU countries have similar difficulties when it comes to social interaction. The project will take place in two different locations, the first part will be organized in Turda where the participants will be discussing about their connection to the internet and computers. The second part will take place in the village of Rimetea (one hour drive from Turda) and the surrounding area. Here non formal educational methods will be used like games, team building activities, nature walks combined with learning experience to reflect on the difference between real and virtual world experiences. Also they will have workshops about outside experiences and internet / computer related habits.
We need 5 countries to work together. Our Project is open to all European countries.
Ages: 18-30.
There will be 6 (5+1 Leader) participants from each group.
The working language of the Project is English.
Accommodation, Meals, Visa and local travel costs (within ROMANIA) are covered by us (%100). Financial support is under the European Commission’s “Youth in Action” - programme granting scheme. If approved, we will pay 70% of your travel costs, 100% visas and all accommodation during the Project.
