Background:
The experince of Youthpass have shown that some young people especially from fewer opportunity backgrounds, may not have the experience maturity or cognitive skills needed to recognise or understand their own learning processes. All young people and especially these young people need support to understand their competences and their learning process. Also some young people may live in isolated region or in economically disadvantaged areas where they have the limited access in education. Young people with a physical or mental disability may have some specific needs. Besides, youngsters from minority ethnic or religious backgrounds may face racisim and discrimination that blocks their acces to institutions. If young people can more see clearly their development in youth projects and youth work, this can go along way to increase their self confidence, and their self esteem. Besides, on the organizations’ and youth workers’ side, this will help to increase the impact of the youth program and activities. The youth workers can improve the results of their work with fewer opportunity young people if they focus on more consciously on learning and find ways to structure the development of competences. This methodology is know as a ‘competence based learning approach’. The proposed training aims at providing the participants ideas and skills to use competences to improve the quality of the work carried out by their organizations.
Target Group:
• The training is open for the participation of youth workers and youth leaders, working/volunteering in small size youth organizations or working/volunteering in youth organizations.
