Do you want to learn how to lead other youth and volunteers in doing social change?
International Leader Training Seminar is a seven day seminar where you develop skills in youth leadership, project management, communication, group dynamics, conflict resolution, motivation and empowerment. Your participation in the seminar will qualify you to lead international volunteer groups, international workcamps or campaign activites in an NGO.
Why?
By joining the seminar, you will strengthen the social and intercultural competencies you need to lead a group, and you will gain experience relevant to your education, job or organizational work. And the best part - you will learn to lead by leading other participants from the seminar.

The seminar is based on the following educational principles:
• Non-formal education – not academic lectures, but practical exercises, group-work and games with a purpose
• Experience-based learning – we all have experience with leadership from our own lives; no-one is a clean slate/tabula rasa, and the seminar builds on this. Plus, we learn from what we do: learning-by-doing.
• Active participation – you are expected to participate and share your experiences.
• Fun – the seminar is going to be hard-working, playful, serious & fun - being among 50 like-minded participants from all around the world is never boring!
The trainers are ActionAid Denmark volunteers experienced in training, leading workcamps, campaigns and other projects. The Seminar will qualify you to lead an international work camp, which is a concrete way of thinking globally and acting locally. A work camp consists of a group of 10-20 international volunteers, including 2 leaders, who work together on a common project. The work camps take place over the summer, and the duration is usually 2-3 weeks. As a workcamp leader you are involved in planning activities and during the camp you are responsible for the social and practical everyday life. The skills you learn and train at the seminar will therefore be of good use to you as a work camp leader.
Who can participate
The International Leader Training Seminar is for all young people between the age of 18 to 30. For the internationals who require a VISA in order to get to Denmark, you need to be supported by an organisation in order for you to recieve VISA.
Costs:
285 EURO including accomodation, food and course materials.
