Summary:
The aim of the short study visit is to invite EVS-organisations from Euro-Mediterranean countries to discover youth work realities in Finland and learn how EVS is implemented in Finnish youth centers.
Target group: Project managers, Youth leaders, Youth workers.
For participants from: Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestinian Authority of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, Syria, Tunisia.
Group size: 10 participants.
Details:
Objective
• to learn about youth policy and youth work in Finland;
• to share experiences and practices related to European voluntary service;
• to learn about environmental education in Finland organised in youth centers;
• to build the capacity and competences of youth workers to carry out European voluntary service projects;
• to foster mutual knowledge and understanding;
• to promote sustainable contacts between the youth NGOs aiming at future development of projects within the Youth in Action Programme.
Participants profile:
• active youth worker;
• experience in European voluntary service,
• ready and motivated to develop new European voluntary service projects with Finland within Youth in Action Programme;
• active participation and contribution during the full duration of the study visit;
• ability to communicate in English;
• minimum 24 years of age.
Programme elements:
• Presentation of participants and organisations;
• Presentation of the Youth in Action Programme especially EVS;
• Visit different youth centers;
• Presentation of Anna Lindh foundation;
• Presentation of the youth work reality in participating countries;
• Project Market - time for planning common, future projects.
Costs:
The food and accommodation will be provided and paid by the organisers. 70% of travels costs and 100 % VISA costs will be reimbursed either by bank transfer after the course or at the end of the course in cash.
