In the coming months we’ll develop several project proposals to be
run under Youth in Action, for which we’ll apply at EACEA at the 1st of September deadline.
In particular, we’re going to apply for
• 4.3 (or 3.1) study visit about promoting volunteering as tool for social rehabilitation of young offenders and for social inclusion – this project will be run in co-operation with Juvenile Justice Centre of Sicily;
• 4.3 (or 3.1) network building activity on the same subject, for organizations interested in developing youth crime prevention activities;
• 4.3C project on mobility of youth workers, both sending and hosting. We’d like to host in Sicily up to two youth workers or active volunteers of other organizations for a period of 2-4 months in spring-summer 2012 and we’d like to send as well; For this action we offer a period of in-service-training in co-operation with the Juvenile Justice Centre of Sicily in order to share our experience in involving young offenders in international activities. We, at the same time, are looking for organizations willing to host one of our active volunteers for a period of 2-4 months.
• 1.1 and 3.1 youth exchanges. We’d like to host and send groups in exchanges connected with the year of volunteering, to be run in spring/summer 2012. Exchange(s) under 1.1 can be or bi-lateral or multilateral. In Sicily we’re going to organize them in connection to the management of goods confiscated to mafia and in co-operation with the “Giovanni e Francesca Falcone” foundation OR inside some of the natural reserves.
Note that projects hosted in Sicily will be covered 100% including all travel expenses due to an extra contribution from the regional government.If you are interested in one or more of the proposal we’ll be happy to provide more info and details.
