Details:
The aim of the training course is to enable participants to more effectively deal with issues of cultural diversity in a multi-cultural youth work context. Youth in Action programme is one of the main elements of this training course. This course will also promote the youth exchanges as a tool within Youth in Action programme to enable participants to act as multipliers in their communities and use the Programme as an effective tool for their future activities in the field of cultural diversity.
Objectives:
• To develop knowledge and skills of participants in the field of cultural diversity;
• To familiarise the participants with commonly used terminology and language of cultural diversity;
• To help participants reflect on the competence needed for using different approaches to addressing cultural diversity in their environment and countries;
• To use the multi-cultural group of participants as a learning space on individual roles and competencies in relation to the topic of the project;
• To provide participants with a platform for exchange on best practices in relation to youth work and cultural diversity;
• To provide the space for sharing realities and identifying challenges and possible solutions in addressing cultural diversity in youth work in participating countries;
• To help participants to understand the interrelation between cultural diversity and youth participation;
• To promote of the use of Youth in Action programme, in particular youth exchanges as an effective tool for promotion of cultural diversity;
• To provide participants with information, knowledge and practical skills about Youth in Action programme and youth exchange projects’ management stages to ensure the multiplying effect after the course and use of programme as an effective tool for future activities;
• To create joint projects related to promotion of cultural diversity to be implemented in 2011-2012;
• To raise the quality of projects implemented within Youth in Action programme.
Costs:
Board and lodging along with training materials are covered by organisers. 70% of the travel costs are covered by the project. There is participation fee (please check the attachment).
