APPLY NOW to be one of just 21 young people selected to attend this unique training opportunity. We are looking for young people who are active in the field of youth participation, leadership or training with a demonstrated commitment to making a difference in their communities, workplaces and families. Our programme targets individuals who believe in service and filling the needs around them, people who want to change the world in whatever way they can. This hands-on 6 day residential programme uses experiential learning to develop practical leadership skills and insight towards:
• Developing awareness;
• Managing energies;
• Great communication and the power of dialogue;
• Being fit to lead in all aspects;
• Leadership styles;
• Planning, communication, teamwork & delegation;
• Decision making and impact;
• Formulating a personal vision and action plan;
• Reflection.
Our approach to leadership development keeps things fresh, practical and focused on participants:
- What is Transformational Leadership? We don't tell you - we show you;
- No PowerPoint - we keep it organic (don't worry, we give you materials later);
- Experiential Learning – shown by research to have the highest levels of retention;
- Modern leadership research along with traditional systems of ethics and philosophy;
- The Leadership toolbox – practical frameworks and concepts with which to work.
All our programmes are delivered by accredited alumni, with first-hand experience of our programmes and of their practical application in day to day living.
Costs:
The full course cost is a highly subsidized: £450 for students/ unwaged/ £600 for waged/ £800 for sponsored places where the sending organisation has <£1million turnover This includes ALL accommodation, food, internal travel and tuition while in the UK. Participants are responsible for their own travel costs. The Change is a UK registered charity (1140203) and is non-profit.
