Participants:
- 5 countries;
- 6 persons per each country plus a leader;
- 16-20 years old youngsters.
We would like to work with fine art methodes, so we would like to invite youngsters, who like drawing, painting, can speak English at communication level and are interested in the topic democracy.
Aim:
Let the participants experience democratic values. Aim of the project is to make the participants process Europe wide important democratic values in a theoretical and a practical way as well. The applied methods are based on non-formal and informal techniques with tools of fine arts so the participants will be able to explore their own values, develop their abilities in tolerance, cooperation and social conformity and became active European citizens.
Objectives:
• Collect knowledge of the participants about the concept democracy;
• Clarify democratic values;
• Get to know and develop the role, opinion, possible contribution of the participants to a better understanding of the concept democracy;
• Inform the youngsters about possible participation in public issues;
• Work out topics such as f. i. tolerance, solidarity, equal chances, awareness, limits of freedom in democracy or disinterest (participants will choose one topic to work out);
• Let them experience a democratic way in cooperation.
Main methods:
Fine arts, drama games, meeting local politicians, inhabitants, social and psychological experts, discussions.
Programme:
At the beginning we will play ice-breaking games, will get to know each other, get motivated and inspirated about the field. After that we will meet experts (like sociologist, politologist or psychologist), will talk, play and prepair to the independent work, which will be building fine art installations about democratic values, and show them to local inhabitants on public and busy places.
