General description of the project:
An interesting and attractive multilateral Comenius project for students aged in between 3 and 16 years old is what you are looking for.
Our intentions would be to get the participating countries to interact and communicate through the ICTs so as to study the behaviour of European families and the youth before daily situations and problems, influenced by their culture, customs and traditions. With it, we will learn to understand how similar we are regarding universal needs, wishes and values, also pointing out the differences that make Europe so interestingly diverse.
As a consequence, we will together open up to other realities and develop a tolerant and understanding view of our neighbours.
Main objectives:
- To learn about the culture of European families respecting diversity and compare them.
- To research and give an account of predominant moral values & the youth's conflict resolution skills and decision-making, influenced by their family customs and culture.
- To gain an intercultural conception of life and acquire a broader vision of culture in Europe.
Main activities:
Regarding activities, our school would like to get all levels of education involved, so, as you can see in here, we have decided various activities for all:
PRESCHOOL:
Preschoolers’ folklore in Europe through songs and storytelling from other countries and flag painting.
PRIMARY SCHOOL:
• INFANT SCHOOL: Short sentences and songs in different languages.
• JUNIOR SCHOOL (4 YEARS)
- First two years of junior school:
Genealogical trees to also consider students’ ancestors that may come from other parts of Europe.
- Last two years of junior school:
Typical cuisine and dancing of European countries.
Secondary school:
- Internet chatrooms for students to get to know and share information with the students of the participating countries throughout the project implementation;
- surveys on customs and on varying youth topics;
- creation of a wiki, blog and Power Point presentations to research, discuss, compare and display customs, traditions and behaviours;
- reports of stories and situations happened.
Final product:
- Sketches & plays to creatively show similar and different customs, traditions and responses to life situations;
- fairs to show the work done by all countries;
- video summarizing everything learnt and conclusions got.
