Main subject:
Focused on Social Networking and Social Media, related with youth work. Social media is a newer concept that has yet to adopt a standardized definition. However, social media can be best defined as various avenues through which people share information, public or private, with a select group of people. Social networking is based on a certain structure that allows people to both express their individuality and meet people with similar interests. This structure includes having profiles, friends, blog posts, widgets, and usually something unique to that particular social networking websites.
Training issues:
• Youth workers & other youth professionals exploring digital dimensions of their work.
• Share experience about the impact of digital technologies on work with young people; and about the policy or practice of digital youth work.
• Join in in-depth discussions about working with young people and new technologies.
• Overcoming challenges to using social networking sites in youth work.
Participants:
1) All candidates must apply using the enclosed PARTIII form. This form should be sent directly to the Organizer no later than 28th of October 2011.
2) Partners selection results will be announced on 2nd of November 2011 and only selected participants will be contacted. Due to the large number of applications expected, the organizer are not in a position to confirm candidates for the seminar. Accepted NGOs will receive all relevant documents in advance by e-mail.
3) Its possible to participate NGOs only from Program countries.
4) Each NGOs participates with one (1) person with not any exception.
5) Participants don’t have any age limit (but it have to be greater than 18 years old.).
6) All the participants will be supposed have experience in the Youth field.
Practical info:
• The training is scheduled for 5 days @ 19-25 March 2012 and will be hosted in the region of Athens.
• English will be the working language. Participants must have sufficient understanding of English.
• Participation fee are 50 Euro per person and it will be deducted from the reimbursement.
• VISA costs (if any) and other related costs covered 100%.
• Youth in Action cover the 70% of the travel cost and 100% hotel, food, local transports etc.
Next steps:
1) To be a partner organisation in this activity, please fill the attached form (PARTIII), sign it in blue ink and put your NGOs stamp on it.
2) Send PARTIII via fax and then send PARTIII by post.
3) Please make sure that we receive your fax before October 28 and also you send via post your original PARTIII. Furthermore, please fill and send via fax the travel plan costs (form in attach).
PARTIII who will not be accompanied by travel plan cost form (signed and stamped) will not be accepted.
