Description:
This is a youth exchange experience, which involves four European countries. The main goal is learning local traditional crafts (loom and weaving) and editing a traditional fabrics models catalogue and a photo-voice exhibition. Throughout this exchange, non-formal learning methods (workshops and meetings) are used, to develop the participants’ interest in preserving the local traditions. During a period of six days, 20 young people from four countries will come to Faraoani; will develop non-formal learning methods to use them later in their communities. At the end, the young people will organize a traditional social evening to show the skills they acquired.
Objectives:
Raising awareness about the active role of the young people in saving and promoting of traditions in the community during the project, developing of traditional crafts skills (loom and weaving), creating materials (catalogue, dvd) by the participants through visits in the community, to preserve traditions, for 20 young people form 4 countries, during 6 days.
Costs:
This project seeks funding by the Youth in Action Programme, accommodation and food will be provided by the organizers. Travel costs to the venue and back will be covered 70%.
