The aim of the training course "Stop Labeling Yourself!" is to understand and learn stereotypes and prejudices in our everyday lives and to become aware of them and about the discrimination.
Target group: Youth workers, Youth leaders.

Belgium - DE, Belgium - FL, Belgium - FR, Croatia, Estonia, France, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania.
Group size: 22 participants.
Details:
Training course “Stop Labeling Yourself!” brings together 22 youth workers and youth leaders from 11 European countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Turkey, Croatia, Hungary, Italy, France, Belgium, Romania and Bulgaria). The aim of the training course is to understand and learn stereotypes and prejudices in our everyday lives and to become aware of them and about the discrimination it can lead to. First it is important for participants to understand themselves and their identity to discover prejudices and stereotypes they have inside. After that it is possible to learn how to recognize the prejudices and stereotypes and how to avoid labeling people. Every person has sometimes been the perpetrator, even sometimes without recognizing it herself/himself. During the training course different stereotypes and prejudices are discovered and discussed, which helps participants to understand how to cope with discrimination resulted from stereotypes and prejudices like xenophobia, homophobia, sexual discrimination, racism etc. In the end of training course participants have a chance to carry out a short workshop in local youth community to help break to stereotypes and prejudices. After the training course the participants will be much more aware of the stereotypes and prejudices and are able to carry out workshops related to the topic in their communities and organizations and work well with young people with different backgrounds. Project will be facilitated by international team of trainers from Estonia and Lithuania, supported by Estonian support team.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, training, food, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by organizers. Also 70 % of travel costs will be reimbursed according to Youth in Action programme.
