Details:
Nizhniy Novgorod Voluntary Service (NNVS) is looking for participants, interested in development of international activities of local youth and voluntary centres and in networking among local youth voluntary centres in different countries, for the training course for open access of local voluntary centers to European youth policy and international youth work “Local organization – Global Dissemination”. The training was initiated by NNVS and supported by youth organizations from different parts of Europe and has got the financial support of the European Youth Foundation in Category A.
The objectives of the project are:
• To familiarize participants with core values, educational approaches, tools, resources and standards in this regard of the Council of Europe’s youth sector in fields of Human rights education, intercultural learning and social inclusion;
• To analyze opportunities of adoption of mentioned European issues to work of local youth voluntary centers regarding specific of youth work and youth policy in countries where centers are situated, needs of local youth (especially youth with disadvantaged background) and perspectives of future sustainable development of youth centers;
• To develop participants competences in practical usage of the Council of Europe’s resources in daily work with local youth;
• To strengthen capacities of local youth voluntary centers from different countries through preparation to realizing common initiatives, informational and resources exchange, active participation in European youth programs and projects.
Methodology:
There are three main educational approaches will be used during the Study session:
• participants-oriented approach, what means to rely on participants’ knowledge, background, experience and sharing opinions and ideas;
• learning by doing approach, when all the themes of the training course will be discovered by practice;
• diversity exploring, when participants will meet local youth initiatives of Nizhniy Novgorod region to discuss how the work of youth centers can look like from the point of view of people who never participated in international activities.
The training will be based on non-formal education methodological principles: active participation of all participants, creation of the specific space, learning in the stretching zone, holistic principle, development of personal, ICL and HR competences.The methods are going to be used are: discussions, plenary sessions, interactive presentations, discovering and exploring exercises, discussions and debates, smalls groups work, self-expression through art, practical exercises and simulations, case-studies, self-reflection space and reflection groups, group dynamic exercises and exercises for creation of a group synergy, social events.
Participant’s benefits:
• Non-formal education course on management of international activities with participation of local youth organizations (proved by a certificate);
• Participation in networking of local youth voluntary centres attending the meeting and possibility to create common youth projects;
• Exploring Russian culture and meeting Russian people, practising handcrafts etc.;
• New tools, techniques, methods, documents on organizing of youth voluntary activities;
• Information about fundraising opportunities to support youth projects.
Costs:
• Accommodation and food will be provided by NNVS on the period of the training;
• Visa: Participants who need a visa to enter Russia should mention it in the application form and provide the needed information as soon as possible. Please, take into consideration that for some countries of CoE (for example the UK) the procedure of making an invitation letter for visa takes at least 3 weeks. Please contact the Russian consulate sufficiently in advance to secure a visa. But if to do everything on time and in advance, then you won’t meet any problems with getting visa;
• Participation fee – 50 EUR;
• 70% of the travel expenses will be reimbursed to you (on your personal account) after providing NNVS with all original tickets and receipts.
Training is financed by European Youth Foundation.
