Outline of the project:

The project aims to look into skills that EVS volunteers have gained in their EVS projects and their relevance for future employability and employment prospects.

It will include several steps:
• First: A survey among ex-volunteers and other target groups (to be defined) should – together with already existing information - create the basis for understanding which skills developed during their EVS are of particular relevance for finding work.

• Second: Small-scale national or regional meetings with relevant stakeholders involved, in EVS and the employment sector, should discuss the findings made in the survey as well as other available relevant data.

• Third: An international seminar bringing together stakeholders from various European countries, in particular those involved as partners in this project, will compare and discuss national / regional findings, offer opportunites for peer-learning and presentation of best practice examples, and define conclusions and/or recommendations for potential follow up of this process at European and/or national levels.

The specifc objectives are as follows:
• To find out more about which skills EVS volunteers typically develop in their EVS projects and which are perceived by stakeholders in EVS to be of particular relevance for future employment and/or employability and/or entrepreneurship;
• To evaluate how these skills are perceived by stakeholders from the employment sector;
• To map the national particularities in this field and which aspects could be characteristic for the broader European situation;
• Specifc attention should be given to skills developed by EVS volunteers from inclusion target groups.

Objectives, expected outcomes and methodology will be further defined during a preparation meeting held on 28th - 30th of January 2013 in Brussels.

• English (and other languages depending on national contexts?)
