Creative Youth is looking for 2 Senior and 1 Junior trainer.



Description

NoFoLe is a 6 month long training of trainers with focus on non formal learning for trainers working with youth with fewer opportunities.

The training consists on four online phases and three presential seminars.

• Preparatory online phase, August - September 2013;
• Introductory seminar, 20-28 September 2013, Sintra Portugal;
• First online e-learning period, October - November 2013;
• Intermediate seminar, December 2013, Italy;
• Second online e-learning period, December - February 2013;
• Final seminar, February 2013, France;
• Follow up process.

The residential meetings will take place in Portugal, Italy and France. The aim is to create a network of 24 trainers who have the competences of using non-formal education in projects with youth with fewer opportunities in national and international level, to support initiatives in the youth and inclusion sectors.

Participants will have the opportunity to use online educational tools and to facilitate a workshop or a training both in national and international context, in between the residential meetings. They will be supported by the trainers team in their development and will receive continuous feedback and coaching sessions throughout the project.

The draft course objectives can be summarised as follows:

• To introduce participants to the principles and values of non formal learning;
• To introduce participants to the project management cycle (especially focusing on evidence based needs analysis) in the framework of youth work;
• To support participants in developing youth-led training projects;
• To develop participants’ understanding and knowledge of inclusion process, human rights framework and the policy fields that are relevant to the situation of the young people with whom they work;
• To introduce participants to relevant European (and related national) mechanisms and instruments for supporting young people;
• To contribute to the social and education recognition of youth work and non formal learning.


Requested trainer profile

Competences required from the trainers

• Training competences for training youth workers at European level using non-formal education methodology;
• Facilitation competences for intercultural groups;
• Knowledge and experiences with intercultural educational long-term processes, and if possible, experience in running an international long-term training course;
• Knowledge of the human rights framework, specifically social rights, international mechanisms, European and national policy development using a human rights based approach;
• Experience in partnership development between civil society and local and regional authorities;
• Knowledge and experience in the area of promoting and advocacy for access to social rights;
• Experience in human rights education, youth participation, inclusion of youth with fewer opportunities, intercultural dialogue and learning;
• Experience in training on project management and supporting project development;
• Ability to present concepts and theories relevant for this training course in a coherent and comprehensive manner;
• Ability to run sessions of the activity independently such as selected workshops, working groups and plenary sessions;
• Ability to work in an intercultural team;
• Ability to work in English, other complementary languages also valuable.

All trainers must be strongly motivated and committed to contribute to the development of the course and be fully availability for the whole duration of the course, including the residential seminars and the e-learning periods. Please note that this is a long-term training course, which will demand time from each trainers for:

• a preparatory meeting in Summer 2013;
• an intermediate and a final evaluation meetings in 2013 and 2014;
• three training events from September 2013 to February 2014;
• engagement during the online e-learning phases of the project offering participants educational support for their actions (less than 3 hours per week);
• cooperation with the rest of the trainers team and coordinators.

Working conditions

The trainers team will decide together the dates for the first preparatory meeting during Summer 2013. During this preparatory meeting, the complete project schedule will be finalized.
