INTERSOS – Quattro nuove posizioni

L’organizzazione umanitaria Intersos ha aperto una selezione per quattro nuove risorse da inserire nella sua operatività in Italia e all’estero. Queste le figure ricercate: Head of Mission – Afghanistan, Project Manager Child Protection – RD Congo, Livelihood Expert – Middle East e Internship Finance. Scadenza per la presentazione delle candidature: 17 novembre 2013.


JOB TITLE: Head of Mission Afghanistan
STARTING DATE:
ASAP

ROLE, TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Mission is the organization’s official representative in the country and is responsible for the planning, management and implementation of the country program on the basis of defined strategies.
He/she manage and coordinate operations and human resources in the country. Specifically he/she is responsible to:
• Establish and maintain relations with local institutions, donors, NGOs, International Agencies and other stakeholders;
• Define country priorities based on context and needs analyses, monitor donor intervention strategies and priorities in the country and evaluate, promote and elaborate new projects;
• Establish, guarantee and monitor government recognition procedures for the organisation and the host country formalities.
• Define programming and planning of mission activities and check implementation;
• Check monthly planning of activities and relative expenses;
• Be responsible for procurement processes of goods, works and services and to ensure conformity to procedures, for forwarding all tender notices and results to Head Office, for publication on the organisation’s website;
• Supervise, monitor and evaluate project implementation phases also by periodic visits to areas of operation;
• Define mission’s economic and financial planning, guaranteeing self-sufficiency and consistency of expenses against budget constraints;
• Assume responsibility for funds management of the mission and for the bank accounts management;
• Approve reports and intermediate and final financial reports and assume responsibility for presentation to donors;
• Write monthly reports on country operations for the Regional Director;
• be responsible for accurate application of all procedures defined by INTERSOS and donors.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Master degree in a humanitarian related studies;
• At least 5 years of experience as HoM or other coordination and management position in humanitarian/development contexts;
• Good knowledge of the procedure of international donors;
• Perfect knowledge of spoken and written English is necessary, Italian language knowledge is an asset;
• Proven people management and leadership skills: the ability to lead staff and promote productivity in a pleasant work environment;
• Comfortable with computer use;
• Self-starter with ability to work autonomously;
• Management skills and capacity of working in a volatile security environment.

JOB TITLE: Project Manager – Child Protection
DUTY STATION:
Congo DRC
START DATE: ASAP

ROLE, TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Child Protection PM will be responsible to coordinate the implementation of activities related to Child Protection. S/he is expected to use a participatory approach to identify needs, design, implement and facilitate activities which develop a sense of community and strengthen community support systems. Specifically s/he will be responsible:
• To awareness building and programming specifically focused on children are emphasized in order to ensure equal access to protection and participation in the delivery of services and in community life;
• To develop and implement child protection activities within the project;
• To assess the needs of vulnerable groups, design and establish community-based support activities, identify culturally appropriate resources and solutions, develop follow-up mechanisms, with attention to the psycho-social aspects and to the identification and treatment of trauma and other vulnerabilities;
• To develop and implement capacity building strategy for INTERSOS national staff that prioritizes and enables programe staff to develop understanding of protection problems and context analysis;
• To elaborate, manage and monitor general and monthly planning of project activities while updating the data entered into the PAT, as well as relative economic and financial planning on the basis of available donor funds;
• To be responsible for accurate project administration and to supervise and monitor the preparation of accounting documents for interim and final financial reports required by
• Donors;
• To guarantee compatibility and conformity to both, INTERSOS and donors’ budget constraints and procedures;
