This seminar will try to show up according to the European Council of Young Farmers and other experiences, today by today, agriculture in Europe represents an extraordinary opportunity for young people to achieve their business objectives in a sustainable manner. Getting into agribusiness is a real opportunity for young people to work in a field of ideas, innovation, research and passion, with the integration of other sectors of the economy in their farm, such as the environment, agro-tourism services, and trade groups. The sector can be developed in synergy with contemporary society and with a significantly important quality of life and wellbeing. This seminar is aimed to a group of 24 young people, youth leaders, youth workers and / or people who work with young people in rural areas, small towns or neighbourhoods with large populations but young people at risk of social exclusion. This is why the Spanish Youth Institute through the CEULAJ, in collaboration with other institutions of public and private, have already organized some conferences around the improvement of youth employability of rural areas in Europe (in September 2013), as well as a through the Spanish National Agency of the Youth in Action program organizing a national seminar for the exchange of best practices around this subject (in November – December 2013). Now the Spanish National Agency, within the Youth in Action program, as third step into this strategy is proposing an International Seminar to share and exchange best practices, taking in account the conclusions of the previous activities.
Aims and objectives:
• Raise awareness of the importance of Agriculture and Rural World nowadays at regional, national and European level as a source of employment and know the possibilities through different professional experiences in the field of agriculture and rural areas;
• Show sources of job creation for young people in rural areas;
• Provide tools to participants to encourage their active participation in the closer environment and to " know how to sell themselves";
• Strengthen the capacities of young people with fewer opportunities by boosting their attitude and positive reinforcement to create change, mainly to develop their initiatives and concerns with a social impact in the agricultural sector;
• Get to know and promote Erasmus + program between the participants as a tool for entrepreneurship in rural areas.
The aim will be improving youth employability of rural areas in Europe through their empowerment in the agricultural world, thus helping to give effect to the principle of equality between young people and their active participation in the social, economic, political and cultural development. This seminar is aimed to a group of 24 young people, youth leaders, youth workers and / or people who work with young people in rural areas, small towns or neighborhoods with large populations but young people at risk of social exclusion.
Methodology:
The proposed methodology is based on the principle of reflection upon the exchange of information, experiences and practices in agriculture and rural areas, on the basis of the principle of non-formal education that frames the Youth in Action program. Active and participative methodology, both in plenary sessions and activities outdoor.
