Seminar Development:
Taking in consideration that almost a quarter of young people in Europe is without occupation, with the aim of improving the employment prospects of young people, the European Commission decided that Member countries must provide as soon as possible tools that validate and certify key competences of young people before the year 2018, both in the field of formal education and in the non-formal and informal learning. Validation enhances the skills of young people that, at times, show improperly the knowledge that possess, what the companies and firms do not value. Moreover, it is a huge potential benefit to those who lack any type of qualification. And to have a system recognized in the European framework improves the youth mobility between countries.
The seminar consists of two different blocks:
• Youthpass and other tools of evaluation and recognition of competencies.
• Strategies and tools for awareness on the importance that has the evaluation and recognition of competences.
It is aimed at 28-30 participants, who work in the field of youth, youth leadership, youth projects to coordinate and with interest in the subject matter of the seminar. The activity is based on the pro – active participation of the selected participants, who may bring examples and identified good practices on evaluation systems and competences recognition systems in their origin countries, within the youth field. A SWOT analysis will be done with all the participants and a new model will be proposed by them.
