Details:
The Training Course called Factory of Active Citizens will take place in Nagybörzsöny at Hungary between 26 May-3 June 2014 with participation of six different country’s youth workers and experts. The aim of the TC is to present the idea of Hungarian children’s and youth municipal councils using non-formal education methods. Moreover we also want to apply for all our good practices during the TC thus the participants may also be able to apply for those techniques in their daily work. Summarizing we would like to give an insight into our work for participants in order to have chance for everyone to get to know the youth advocacy activities and their methods behind it which we believe can expand the active participation of youth by involving them into democratic processes to improve the situation and opportunities of youth. During the TC we provide practical workshops with effective theoretical clarification about the children’s and youth municipal councils, active citizenship and youth participation and about the democratic system. There will be also a long simulation game which will enable participants to take the chance and create their own decisions by modelling the operation of these councils. After providing a chance to get to know the good practices our aim is to have a common space where different projects and ideas can be discussed also. With these elements the participant’s skills (writing application, entrepreneurship etc) can be developed. We also plan to introduce the new program called Erasmus +! For sure besides the well structured program there will be space enough for fun and to learn from each other’s culture about different backgrounds etc. As a result of the TC we will create a practical tool kit which will also work as check list for the future interested people. The aim of this publication is to provide a practical help for those who wants to start build an organization in order to advocate the youth interest, which can be a children’s and youth council. For the future we as a long term goal of this project we would like to create a new network with organisations who apply for the methodology of children’s and youth municipal councils.
