Summary: This training course will take place in a beautiful rural area of Snowdonia national park, Wales, (United Kingdom). We will gather 27 youth workers, leaders and young people who are interested in learning about how to start up a business.
Target group: Youth workers, Trainers, Youth leaders, Project managers, EVS mentors/tutors, young people over 18 years old with interest of this topic.
For participants from: Estonia, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Turkey, United Kingdom
Group size: 27 participants
Details: This project aims to support young people to develop entrepreneurial skills. Many young people would like to open their own business but lack some of the basic skills and experience to do this. This project will give them the guidance to take the first steps in creating their own business from their passions. We will also give some practical examples via a visit to a successful business and social enterprise, Skype discussions with some successful entrepreneurs and practical examples of how to create a social enterprise accompanied by theory. By the end of the project, participants will showcase their ideas in front of a panel of successful entrepreneurs.
Aims & Objectives:
• Identifying the main challenges and opportunities of working with young people in rural areas (around this entrepreneurial topic)
• Discussion on existing entrepreneurial business or social projects made in different rural area setting, and the possibility of creatively developing new projects within EU countries
• Discussions on what are the creative skills and resources needed by young people to develop their own projects, and how to provide or signpost them to access to training, mentoring and funding
• Making new partners and contacts with similar interest and use this opportunity to set up further events such as training, seminar, exchange and networking
• Sharing best practice and identify a preferred method for communication or platform to share resources and ideas
The venue
The event will be held in a beautiful residential centre in Wales offering many indoor and outdoor activities, but the location is quite in a rural area. The closest airport is Manchester International Airport. We will provide group pick-up by bus from Manchester so will need your cooperation to arrive in the airport either before 12pm noon or 6pm so please find your flights accordingly. Please also include £20 (about €25) calculated from your total travel costs, which we will deduct from your travel reimbursement for the cost of return group coach per person to pick you and drop you off to the airport.
Costs: There is no participation fee.
This project has been financed by the Erasmus+ programme. The costs related to accommodation and food will be completely covered by the hosting organisation. Travel tickets are refundable for the participants who attend the whole program and subject to a valid return tickets and boarding passes. Maximum reimbursement per participant from each country is up to as follows:
Estonia: €360
Greece: €360
Italy: €275
Netherlands: €275
Poland: €275
Portugal: €360
Romania: €360
Turkey: €360
UK: €180
Working language: English.
