Summary: This Training (with some Partner Building opportunities) aims to promote the involvement of young people with disabilities in E+ projects. An indepth look at Erasmus+, the potential barriers and strategies to overcome these barriers will be explored.
Target group: Youth workers, Youth leaders, Young people (over 18) who will take a lead role in their E+ projects.
For participants from: Ireland, Netherlands, Poland, United Kingdom.
Group size: 20 participants
Details:
One in seven people have some form of disability (No Barriers, No Borders, A practical booklet for setting up international mixed-ability youth projects, SALTO, 2003), but this is not reflected amongst the young people taking part in the Erasmus+ programme. We know that for many organisations who work with these young people or those projects who wish to partner with them there are perceived and actual barriers. This Training Course wants to examine these barriers and help groups and young people feel confident in taking part in all aspects of the Erasmus programme. It is also expected that participants will plan to use this opportunity to create international partnerships and develop E+ projects for young people with disabilities and also working with mixed ability groups.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Erasmus+ Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
