Summary: The training course for EVS support staff "Contact-Create-Improve-Develop Quality EVS Project” will gather 30 motivated people from 15 countries that are already or willing to become actively involved with the support and mentoring of EVS volunteers.
Target group: Youth workers, Trainers, EVS mentors/tutors, Coordinators, Supervisors, Mentors of EVS volunteers
For participants from: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Turkey

Training Objectives

• Explore, understand and rebuild the philosophy of EVS as a space of opportunities for all actors involved.
• Understand and develop practices within the different stages of an EVS project that can support the volunteers experience.
• Increase motivation to develop quality projects and create inspiration with new ideas and the empowerment of the support staff.
• Creation of an informal network of participants (and their organizations) for cooperation and exchange of ideas, tools and practices.
• Gain and improve soft skills such as, communication, problem solving, coaching, teamwork, leadership, intercultural learning, project management.
The project will combine the principles of non-formal education and experiential approach based on participants’ needs, motivations and experiences by using a diversity of activities within an interactive and safe environment.
Participants Profile
The participants selected need to be already active within the support system of EVS (Coordinators, Supervisors, Mentors), or are willing to become active. High motivation should be demonstrated through the application, and they should be collaborating with organisations that are already accredited EVS organisations or are in the process to get accredited. We are expecting to have a diverse group of participants with different experiences, quantitative and qualitative that can support the objectives of the training and the learning process. There is no upper age limit.
• Coordinators, supervisors, mentors, actively (or about to get) involved in their sending organisation;
• Are over 18 years old;
• Have a genuine passion for EVS;
• Willing to learn and motivated to share their own experiences;
• Willing to multiply learning after the training course
• Are able to work in English;
• Are committed to attend for the full duration of the project.
Selection Process
Selection of the participants will be done by 13th March 2015.
Costs: Costs concerning meals, accommodation and visas as well as the program and materials will be fully covered for the whole duration of the training.
The participants should use the cheapest possibilities for travelling and provide all the receipts and original tickets, invoices, boarding cards, etc. to the organizer. The maximum amount of travel reimbursement per person is: Czech Republic (330 Euro), Italy (330 Euro), Romania (240 Euro), Greece (240 Euro), Croatia (330 Euro), Turkey (240 Euro), Slovakia (330 Euro), Spain (330 Euro), Estonia (330 Euro), France (330 Euro), Azerbaijan (240 Euro), Serbia (240 Euro), Georgia (240 Euro), Moldova (330 Euro), Armenia (240 Euro).
There is a participation fee of 30 euro.
