Qualifications and Experience • Preferably graduated in Social Sciences, Development studies, Foreign policies or in International relations; However, also other education such as Human Rights or Gender studies might be considered depending on the work experience; • At least 5 years of working experience, ideally with some experience gained in an international environment, in a member-led organisation, liason office or coalition ; voluntary work also welcome; coordinator experience is an asset; • The ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with CONCORD’S members and with a wide range of other stakeholders; • Demonstrable knowledge of the functioning of the EU institutions. Attitude – Dynamic and pro-active problem solving person • Possess excellent team-player characteristics and positive attitude, including flexibility, patience and the ability to cope with pressure and tensions; • An ability to work independently and proactively; • Demonstrate ability to work effectively across teams, departments and within member-driven dynamics; • Shows respect and sensitivity towards gender, cultural and religious differences; challenges prejudice, biases and intolerance in the workspace; encourages diversity wherever possible; • A person who can balance the many needs of the membership with the abilities and limited resources of CONCORD secretariat; • High sense of Integrity: A person who maintains high ethical standards, keeps promises, resists pressure in decision-making from internal and external sources; does not abuse power or authority. Communication skills/ languages • Confident in internal organisational communication which should be transparent, open and inclusive while building trust; • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, Fluency in written and spoken English is essential, other languages are considered as a huge asset. Skills Multi-tasking with high prioritisation and time-management skills. Collaboration Works effectively and cooperatively with others toward shared goals; establishes and maintains principle-centered working relationships. Shows respect for other views and contributions; shares information and expertise with them. Conditions of Employment: • Post based in Brussels, Belgium; • 6-month Short-term contract (100%); • Gross salary, depending on experience, will be from € 2.937, 21/month (13.8 months a year). CONCORD also provides hospitalisation insurance, meal vouchers and a monthly commuting allowance on local public transport or by bicycle.
