ARGOMENTO: The aim of the project is to develop a network of outdoor education practitioners capable of sharing knowledge and experience, providing further training and advice to others, organising international youth exchanges, and promoting high professional standards at a European level.

Summary: A multi measure training programme for youth workers, volunteer leaders and other practitioners interested in outdoor education. Participants are expected to commit to all 4 parts.
Target group: Youth workers, Outdoor education professionals.
For participants from: Austria, Bulgaria, Finland, United Kingdom.
Group size: 40 (10 per country) participants.
Details:
This series of training programmes will bring together 40 participants from the United Kingdom, Austria, Bulgaria and Finland. Participants must commit to taking part in all 4 training events. There is also an optional additional job shadowing opportunity. The aim of the project is to develop a network of outdoor education practitioners capable of sharing knowledge and experience, providing further training and advice to others, organising international youth exchanges, and promoting high professional standards at a European level. The project will result in the publication of a hands on guide or resource pack for developing outdoor education centres, film and media output, and activities in different places and contexts. It will specifically contribute to the planning, physical construction, and programme development of outdoor centres already being undertaken in some countries, and will also lead to further proposals for exchanges and other projects in the framework of Erasmus+. The project consists of a four phase training programme.
Participants must attend all four parts:
• Lake District National Park, England, 31 July - 07 August 2015;
• Villa Elba, Kokkola, Finland, 13 - 20 November 2015;
• Bulgaria - April 2016;
• Innsbruck, Austria, June 2016.
Outcomes of the project are expected to be:
1.
Appreciation of the added value of outdoor education as a tool for youth development, and the associated economic benefits.
2. Increased knowledge of outdoor education activities and the standards required to run these safely and successfully.
3. Understanding the business principles and other practical requirements for setting up outdoor centres.
4. Enhanced capacity for establishing new outdoor centres and activities.
5. Improved intercultural understanding and in depth understanding of international youth work.
6. New skills and knowledge in film and digital media output.
Costs:
All food and accommodation costs are covered by the project, for all parts of the project. There will be a participation fee of €100 per event to cover additional costs envisaged. Travel costs will be reimbursed at all phases of the project.
For the first phase (UK) the maximum will be: Bulgaria: €360; Austria, Finland: €275; UK: €180.
For phase two (Finland) the maximum travel costs will be: Bulgaria: €360; UK, Austria: €275; Finland: €180.
For phase 3 (Bulgaria) the maximum travel costs will be: Austria: €275; UK, Finland: €360; Bulgaria: €180.
For phase 4 (Austria) the maximum travel costs will be: UK, Bulgaria, Finland: €275; Austria: €180.
