Summary: If you are ready to reflect on your own place in the society and willing to use the benefits of Erasmus+ Youth you are very welcome to join the following long term training course for people with and without disabilities.
Target group: Youth workers, Youth leaders, Project managers, people from inclusion groups (physically and mentally disabled).
For participants from: Youth in Action Programme countries.
Group size: 25 participants

If you would like to…

• get to know yourself better by understanding your own position in society;
• learn about different views of participants and exchange experiences;
• learn about class, gender, exclusion and discrimination;
• understand how discrimination affects your everyday life;
• reflect and reduce discriminatory behaviour;
• learn a new way of non-violent communication during field work phase transfer the ideas of the training to your everyday life and/or work field;
• plan projects for small steps towards a more inclusive Europe;
• get Mentoring for the projects and activities you planned during the seminars;
• get familiar with the possibilities within Erasmus+ Youth Program.
You are very welcome to apply if you...
• are open and motivated to share your thoughts and feelings and reflect on yourself;
• work with people in situation of disability (e.g. as an NGO worker, youth worker, social worker, teacher, activist);
• live in situation of disability (e.g. physical or mental) Blind people are very welcome but unfortunately the training material cannot be provided in braille;
• can speak English or understand sign or you can follow the training with the help of your assistant;
• are willing to take part in two training courses (November 2015/ June 2016) and a phase between the training courses for own project planning and activities ;
• feel comfortable to follow sessions of two hours (single and group work).
You can expect:
• Better understanding of discrimination;
• Learning by exchange and having fun;
• Getting ideas for inclusive action and empowerment;
• Full cover of accommodation and meals during the training courses;
• Accessible venue / rooms, facilities;
• Sign language interpretation;
• Possibility to come with your personal assistant (if justified);
• Trainers who will fully consider the needs of all participants and will care for sufficient time for relaxation during the whole training program;
• Support by volunteers for different needs and situations during the whole training phase;
• Mentoring provided by the trainers and regularly exchange during the field work phase;
• To be able to work within Erasmus + Youth Program and to get to know the Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity strategy for youth.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your Erasmus+: Youth in Action NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
