Summary:
“VOLU.M.E” Volunteer Management Enhanced training course is focused on offering an experience in Volunteering management to persons in organization which already have at least 1 experience as international Hosting organization.
Target group: EVS mentors/tutors, participants should be involved in EVS projects, EVS coordinators or Ex EVS volunteers. It is crucial that participants have been involved in at least 1 EVS project.
For participants from: Youth in Action Programme countries.
Group size: 25 participants
Details:
Volunteerism, a term extensively used and supported by European mobility projects. Promoted as an educational experience and process, includes a number of processes and measures for it to become a quality experience. Volunteerism – therefore a relation amongst, Volunteers, Volunteer managers, Mentors, Sending, Coordinating and Hosting organizations - needs a process which is referred to as Volunteer Management. “VOLU.M.E” Volunteer Management Enhanced training course is focused on offering an experience in Volunteering management to persons in organization which already have at least 1 experience as international Hosting organization. The term Enhanced promotes the idea of going deeper into Volunteer management steps, exchange of expertise, good practices, stories, disappointments, bad practices etc .. It will also work on the Role of the Mentor of the volunteer as an important element in the whole process. Within the framework of this training, there will be a one day interaction with local hosting organizations in Cyprus. The training course aims at developing competencies of youth workers and organizations in volunteer management and mentoring of EVS volunteers. The purpose is to enhance the quality of EVS projects as learning experiences in all levels from the writing of a project right through the closing and evaluation.

1. Volunteering as a learning process;
2. Quality in Volunteer management;
3. Volunteerism Volunteer management steps:
• Preparation of the organization;
• Recruitment of volunteers;
• Selection of volunteers;
• Orientation and training of Volunteers;
• Supervision of volunteers;
• Motivation of volunteers;
• Recognition of volunteer merits;
• Evaluation of volunteers.
In the framework of this activity, NA Cyprus is planning to organize a national activity (training), between 12-13 September 2015, for the Cypriot EVS accredited organizations. The purpose of this 2-day training is the exchange of good practices and the successful tackling of possible challenges and problems that might arise during the implementation of the Cypriot organizations' EVS projects.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country.
