Target group: Youth workers, Youth leaders, Youth Policy Makers, experienced in target group or presenting a possibility of working with those most at risk. Participants must be able to express themselves in English.
For participants from: Erasmus+: Youth in Action Programme countries.
Group size: 20 participants
Details:
Open for youth workers/ youth leaders/ teachers/ Decision makers who wish to exchange ideas and learn how to prevent youth extremism (especially through Erasmus+projects). This training course will give participants a deeper understanding of the concept of extremism and equip them with tools for understanding and working with those most at risk. It will consist of workshops, lectures, group work and the sharing of experiences and challenges. There will also be input from academics researching religious radicalisation. Participants will share best practice examples and engage with their own nations’ policies and responses to extremism/radicalisation
Objectives:
• Identifying and understanding the causes of extremism/ radicalization;
• Recognise importance of dialogue on the concept of citizenship and to further develop the dynamics of identity along with the religious/political beliefs;
• Equip participants with the ability to identify those most at risk and with tools to respond to different levels of extremism/radicalization;
• Designing and implementing activities in the frame of Erasmus+ to help the young people at risk.
Format: 4 full days of programme.
Please note, this course needs participants to provide an example of good practice and to research national policy before the training. They will share it during the training with other participants. All participants have to be committed to respond to questionnaire and studies of impact.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Erasmus+ Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs or SALTO involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
