At the same time, this event will be hosted in a rural village, within the community project ‘The Rural Centre of Non Formal Education’, offering an authentic experience of Portuguese culture through interactions and partnerships with the local community of Vila da Marmeleira.
Why this Short Study Visit?
• To explore, experience and understand how the Erasmus+ Youth in Action programme is put into action in rural areas of central Portugal.
• To visit examples of good practice and based upon interaction with the project organisations, filter out elements to transfer to own reality, this both ways.
• To offer possibilities for partner building between Finnish and Portuguese organisations for future projects within the frame of E+ YiA Programme.
• To experience Portuguese culture through increased involvement of local communities.
To experience the Portuguese culture, we will be living, eating, sleeping and working inside a small rural village called Vila da Marmeleira. From August 2013 on, this village is the first ‘Rural Centre of Non Formal Education’ in Portugal turning its habitants into ‘trainers’ and ‘learners’ at the same time! E+ YiA has been a very important tool in this process. During this Short Study Visit there are several interaction moments planned with the local population (see overall programme attached). Be prepared to interact and discover! The program lasts for three full days with arrival day on Wednesday, 30th of March and departure day on Sunday, 03rd of April. There is a bus organized to pick up the Finnish participants in the airport of Lisbon, and Portuguese participants have the option to be picked up at the train station of Santarem. Participants should be at least 18 years old and should have a good level of English.
Costs:
Hosting (accommodation and food), transfer from the airport to the venue and studyvisit related costs are covered by Portuguese National Agency for Erasmus + Youth in Action. About Travel costs: participants from Finland should contact CIMO, the Finnish National Agency, and Portuguese participants should contact the Portuguese National Agency for Erasmus + Youth in Action.
Working language: English.

SCADENZA: 21st of February 2016.
