Profile of participants

The target group of this training course is composed of youth workers and trainers who are directly working with young people from excluded groups and/or are from these groups themselves. They should have no experience in setting up international projects as such. But are willing to do in the future! This last issue is important to have highly motivated persons that want to set up future cooperation and international projects. Furthermore, participants should:
• Be aged 18+. No age limit.
• Be working on a local or regional level with socially excluded youth.
• Preferable working on a voluntary- of professional basis with young people.
• Have proven personal and organisational interest in this training.
• Be willing to continue cooperation after the training (very important).
• Be fully available during the whole training course (meaning 8 days and travel) and willing to participate actively.
• Able to work and discuss in the English language.
• In a position within the organization to apply the outcomes of the training, meaning working on issues related to human resource.
Through this project we would like to give youth workers from the involved Countries, the chance to learn in a safe environment how to set up projects, how to apply for money, how to manage a project once it is granted. And this including all steps involved.
The objectives below make this aim more specific:
• Exchanging and sharing experiences, concepts and methods in working with disadvantage young people.
• Exploring ways to incorporate diversity management into the work and trainings the participants do.
• Developing cross-cultural awareness by providing structured space for sharing, experiencing and addressing intercultural learning.
• Increasing knowledge on project management in setting up quality international youth projects.
• Developing teamwork, leadership and cooperation skills among the participants.
• Setting basis for positive future cooperation within the Erasmus+/Youth in Action Program.
• Creating a platform were possible future partnerships for setting up international projects can find each other.
Background
The theme of project management under the new Erasmus+/YIA brings still some confusion among possible partners organizations. Organizations are willing to set up European Projects, but the knowledge of the new program is giving people some doubts about all the work that has to be included (mandates, mobility tool, youthpass, … etc). Through this project we would like to give youth workers from the involved countries, the chance to learn in a safe environment how to set up projects, how to apply for money, how to manage a project once it is granted. And this including all steps involved. By working in small groups, it has been showing in previous training courses that this is the ideal format for implementing and realizing project among participants. And this is what we intent to do!
Costs:
The travel costs are subsidized for by the Erasmus+:Youth in Action program. You are obliged to travel as cheap as possible. The maximum amount we can reimburse per participant to travel to Belgium is: Greece, Turkey, Spain : maximum 360 euro. Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Romania : maximum 275 euro. Travel cost for Belgium participants are not covered for journey less than 100km. A participation fee of 50 euro per participant is foreseen.
