Summary: The aim of the project is to deal with stereotypes from various fields of life, their effect on personal and professional development, the impact on political, social and cultural life with a special focus on gender roles and expectations.
Target group: Youth workers, Trainers, Youth leaders, Project managers.
For participants from: Italy, Malta, Russian Federation.
Group size: 18 participants.
Details:
Gender roles and stereotypes represent two interrelated topics which both deal with human rights and the conception of democratic society. The project will take into account the following fundamental rights of the EU:
1) Gender equality.
2) Equal opportunities.
3) Non-discrimination.
The project strives to discover stereotypes from various fields of life and at the same time to explore and understand the way young people from various countries interact with peers of the same and different sex. The goal is to understand how society influence gender roles to make changes in expectations toward each other and communicate in a more harmonious and effective way.
During the international activities the following aims will be processed:
• To explore, identify and analyze the stereotypes among young people from various countries;
• Discuss the most common stereotypes and the methods for overcoming them;
• Identify the rarest stereotypes and examine their effects on ones lives;
• Exchange opinions about gender expectations between men and women;
• Learn how to accept the view of the other gender;
• Practice effective ways of coexistence between men-women.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Erasmus+ Program. Accommodation and food will be provided during the training days. Relevant visa costs will be covered by the organisers. The participation fee asked by sending organisation varies from country to country. Travel costs will be covered according to the following travel limit: Russian Federation: 170 euro; Italy: 170 euro; Malta: 170 euro.
Working language: English.
