Details:
The global and digitalised world is exciting, but it is also difficult to understand for both young people themselves and the people helping them in making the right choices and coping with the future’s uncertainty! The aim of the seminar is to try to see into the future of young people: What are the future mega trends and how the world and our lives are likely to change? What are the challenges young people will meet? How can youth work and youth information work help young people to overcome those challenges? What kind of good practices are already available in Europe? The seminar includes expert inputs and sessions for sharing good practices. The key note speaker is the Finnish futurist Ilkka Halava. The idea is to go beyond the “traditional” youth information and dig deeper into the questions linked to:
• International mobility / globalisation;
• Media/multi literacy;
• Life on the internet (the challenges caused by the “digital lifestyle”);
• Employment, careers & economics;
• Well-being.
The seminar will gather together youth (information) workers interested in the above-mentioned topics, give them space to meet, learn from their peers, network, share, get inspired and develop their ideas further with the others. The fair will showcase the best creative tools and practices of delivering information and guidance in Europe. The programme will consist of expert lectures, presentations, participative workshops, open space and, if possible, study visits.
Target group: Experienced and committed youth workers and youth information, guidance and counselling professionals. Participants must be over 18 years old and able to communicate in English. The seminar takes place in Helsinki. The seminar starts on Tuesday (late afternoon) and end on Friday (departures after breakfast). Planning and implementation of the tool fair is done in co-operation between the Finnish National Agency for Erasmus+, Eurodesk and Koordinaatti - National Development Centre of Youth Information and Counselling in Finland.
