Profile of participants:
• Participants of the previous activity of the Cinema of Social Rights (ENTERainment) who implemented the local action plans and the advocacy strategy;
• Members and partners of the Youth Social Rights Network and other individual with experience in working on advocating for the improvements of the access to social rights for young people from disadvantaged neighborhoods at local level.
We also welcome applicants from other organizations who did not participate in the previous phase of the Cinema of Social Rights but who are motivated to support the advocacy strategy for the implementation of the Recommendation CM/Rec(2015)3 and meet the following profile:
• Youth workers working with young people and/or within the field of social advocacy;
• Social workers, teachers and/or other professionals working in the field of social rights of young people and youth policies;
• Be 18-30 years old (age limit because of CoE funding rules but we can welcome a certain percentage of older participants);
• Be able to work in English;
• To be citizens of one of the following Council of Europe member states Georgia, Greece, The Netherlands, FYROM, Serbia, Denmark, Turkey, Romania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Albania, Croatia (few exception can be made for participants representing other Council of Europe member states).
All participants must:
• Commit to the whole duration of the activity;
• Purchase their tickets no later than 15th of July (NOTE Travel arrangements must be approved by the Y-SRN prior to booking).
Costs:
Dates and place
The activity will take place on between the 21st of August and 24th of August 2017 in the beautiful city of Thessaloniki, Greece. Participants are expected to arrive on 20th of August and depart on 25th of August.
Travel
International travel costs will be reimbursed up to 70% of the total amount of the ticket. Please note that travel costs must be APPROVED by organizers beforehand taking into consideration the least expensive route between the place of residence and Thessaloniki. Local transportation costs to/from the airport are fully covered. Reimbursement to participants is usually made by the end of the activity. Participants will be asked to present their tickets and other supporting material on the first day of the meeting (original invoices, original receipts, in the case of e-tickets documentary evidence of the sum actually paid e.g. copy of credit card slip, copies of visas, boarding pass (both ways). Note: presenting all the needed documents is mandatory for the reimbursement, otherwise no payment can be made on spot.
Board and Lodging
Participants will be accommodated in Holiday Inn Hotel in Thessaloniki (http://www.hithessaloniki.gr/) in shared rooms. Meals will be covered by the organizers.
Enrolment fee and Visa
All participants are required to pay a participation fee of 30 euros, except of participants who had already been involved in the first activity. The fee is deducted from the refund of travel expenses. Visa costs will be fully reimbursed.
Insurance
The Youth Social Rights Network declines all responsibility for any risk that can occur to participants during their journey, or during their stay at Thessaloniki, Greece. Individual insurance or collective insurance against all risks is therefore necessary, the latter to be arranged by participants. There is a Social Security Convention on sickness insurance for member states of the European Union. Nationals of these countries can obtain the necessary documentation (European Health Insurance Card).
