ARGOMENTO: Long Term Training Course (LTTC) "FEMPOWER" aims to increase the awareness of youth workers and youth leaders about gender equality issues and perspectives in Europe and to provide the participants with skills to develop good quality projects locally and under the “Erasmus+” program focusing on gender equality and gender mainstreaming.

Summary: FEMPOWER aims to enable youth workers and young leaders to feel and reflect about the power of gender and gender roles by giving them space to discuss, debate and learn more about the topic that often remains undiscussed.
Target group: Youth workers, Trainers, Youth leaders, Project managers.
For participants from: Belarus, Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Ukraine.
Group size: 36 participants.

Long Term Training Course (LTTC) "FEMPOWER" aims to increase the awareness of youth workers and youth leaders about gender equality issues and perspectives in Europe and to provide the participants with skills to develop good quality projects locally and under the “Erasmus+” program focusing on gender equality and gender mainstreaming. Conservative, discriminating values are hard to tackle. Thus, it is very important to enable youth workers and young leaders to feel and reflect about the power of gender and gender roles by giving them space to discuss, debate and learn more about the topic that often remains undiscussed. Through the LTTC we would like to develop and improve our participant’s knowledge and understanding on various concepts related to gender issues, analyze traditions, roles and perceptions of gender in different countries and societies. It's obvious that there will be huge differences as participants will come from different realities and different corners of Europe.
Long Term Training Course envisages 2 stages:
• Training Course in Yerevan, Armenia (22-30 July, 2017);
• Study Visit to London, United Kingdom (11-16 September, 2017).
Both stages of the project should be attended by the same participants. Participation in both stages is mandatory.
The objective of the LTTC are following:
• To learn about gender equality issues by sharing and comparing the realities in the European Union and Neighboring Partner countries;
• To exchange experiences, best practices and knowledge between youth workers and their organizations on gender mainstreaming and women empowerment;
• To develop participants knowledge and understanding on various concepts related to gender and emphasize the importance of gender equality in youth work;
• To facilitate networking process among participants and promote new common projects related to gender equality.
Costs:
100% of the total travel expenses of Training Course in Armenia and Study Visit to the UK will be reimbursed by the organizers during the second stage of the project in the UK.

If travel costs exceed the amount budgeted in the project, the participants will need to cover the exceeding amount. Participation fee! There is a participation fee of 60 EUR to be paid in cash during the Training Course in Armenia. This is a participation fee for both stages of the project. The accommodation and food will be provided during the Training Course in Armenia and Study Visit to the UK.
