Details:
ECO-Connection will address the issues of social resilience and active participation in a broader framework of sustainable development including the aspects of social and solidarity economy and ecological sustainability and the potential role of ecological farming and sustainable agri-food systems, for overcoming marginalization in rural areas in Europe. The overall aim of the training course is to train youth workers and youth leaders who directly work with rural youth. We intend to gather skills and resources in order to empower youth workers to create new synergies in rural communities and to use voluntary projects linked to environmental and sustainable development as a tool to stimulate creativity and to encourage young people to find new solutions to contemporary challenges.
Objectives:
• To promote social inclusion and mobility of young people in rural areas;
• To empower youth workers and youth leaders who directly work with rural youth;
• To develop new working methods allowing participants to implement voluntary projects on the field of environmental and sustainable development, more specifically on sustainable agri-food systems;
• To encourage international co-operation and the exchange of information and experience in the field of rural youth projects;
• To foster new synergies between rural communities, institutions and civil organisations with an interest in rural society, in social and solidarity economy, agricultural development and sustainable development.
The Eco-connection training will start the 20th and finish the 29th October 2017 in Valflaunès (Hérault departement, France).
Activities:
• Visits to different actors in the field of ecological farming and sustainable agri-food systems;
• Modules on identification and understanding the needs and problems in rural areas and the issues on volunteering in geographically disadvantaged areas;
• Workshops on networking and partnership building as well as some knowledge on project management;
• A special attention will be given to the impact of voluntary projects in rural areas;
• Creation of a booklet and a video tutorial.
Participants will also have the chance to share experiences and learn from each other, but also to exchange good practices.
Profile of participants:
This training targets youth workers and youth leaders who directly work or are willing to work with rural youth. Participants need to be motivated and ready to participate to the entire training.
Training results:
Throughout the training, each participant will contribute to create a booklet and a video tutorial to promote the activities developed during the training course.
Methodology:
The methodology (non-formal education, training sessions, meetings with professionals, discussions) and the structure of the training will encourage an active involvement of each participant in order to develop competences and new tools for a personal and social development.

Maximum reimbursement limit
Distance up to: 10 - 99 km : 20 €; 100 - 499 km: 180 €; 500 - 1999 km: 275 €; 2000 - 2999 km : 360 €; 3000 - 3999 km: 530 €; 4000 - 7999 km: 820 €; 8000 km et plus / and more: 1 300 €. All the accommodation and food will be provide for free. There is no participation fee from participants.
