Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs of the Republic of Armenia,
"International Center for Intercultural Research, Learning and
Dialogue”, and “Center for Organizing Youth Events” non-profit
organization are organizing a Youth Festival “Dialogue of
Cultures - 2010”, which will take place from the 15th of October
(arrival date) to the 21st of October (departure date) 2010 in
Tsakhkadzor, Armenia.
Board and lodging for the days of the festival and local (in the
territory of Armenia) transportation costs will be covered by the
organizers. The participants cover their travel expenses to Yerevan
and back themselves.
Project goals and objectives:
The Aim of the Youth Festival "Dialogue of Cultures" is to contribute
to the development of the Intercultural Dialogue and Learning, to
promote the Cultural Diversity, as well as to convoke the youth to
participate in the settlement of global issues. The objectives of this
project are; to gather youth of different nationalities and different
ethnic groups under a common roof, to provide them with basic
knowledge and intercultural experience on the theory and practice
of intercultural learning, and also to organize their actual
intercultural dialogue through presentations of national arts, music,
film, dance, folklore, traditional and ritual games, mythology and
national cuisine. The festival is dedicated to “International Decade
for a Culture of Peace and Non-violence for the Children of the
World (2001-2010)”.
The venue of the festival:
The Festival will be held in the resort town Tsakhadzor at 40 km
away from Yerevan.
Visa requirements:
Those participants, who need special visas, must contact the
relevant embassies or consulates to be informed about visa
obtaining process. There is also a possibility to get visa in Armenia
in the airport of Yerevan, but it is limited to a concrete list of the
countries. The organizers will do all the possible to simplify visa
procedures to the maximum extent. In case of short-term visit
(21days) the cost of receiving visa on the border is nearly 7 Euros.
Please make sure to take the short-term visa for 21 days and not
the more expensive one for 120 days.
Pick up:
Please be sure to provide the organizers of the festival with
your travel details (dates and time of arrival/departure) for
them to be able to organize the pick up at the airport or
train station.
Language of the festival:
The working languages of the festival are English and Russian.
Financial issues:
During the festival board and lodging for the days of the festival and
local (in the territory of Armenia) transportation costs will be covered
by the organizers. The participants cover their travel expenses to
Yerevan and back themselves. For other personal expenses the
most convenient currencies to bring in are Euro, US dollar and
Russian Roubles.
