Summary:
This training course focuses on creating common understanding on how to support EVS volunteers in both comprehending and making appropriate use of their skills and competences gained during the service abroad.
Target group: Youth workers, EVS mentors/tutors.
For participants from: Youth in Action Programme Countries.
Group size: 30 participants.
Details:
The objectives of this training course are
• To increase own understanding of supporting EVS volunteers in answering the question: What Next?
• To present and exchange best practices in the field.
• To improve knowledge, skills and attitudes needed in supporting the learning outcomes of volunteers in EVS projects.
• To explore different tools necessary in developing and building upon the EVS experience.
Who can apply?
The training course is aimed at representatives of Sending, Hosting and Coordinating Organisations, mentors as well as members of ex-EVS associations, who are:
• actively involved in supporting EVS volunteers during and after their projects;
• willing to explore different approaches towards supporting EVS volunteers in understanding the experience gained during their projects abroad;
• able to effectively communicate and work in English.
Which methods will be used?
The methods used during the training course will:
• reflect the principles and general practices of non-formal education;
• ensure the balance between workshops, inputs and discussions;
• provide space for reflection on skills, knowledge and attitudes to be developed;
• enable the organisations and individuals to improve their support for the EVS volunteers.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation, travel, visa, etc.) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the NAs or SALTO involved in this project - except a participation fee which varies from call to call and country to country. Please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses. If you come from a country other than Programme Countries, please contact the host NA for further information about the financial details.
