Main subject
A youth worker is anyone, staff or volunteer, who works with or for the development of children and youth by working directly for or on behalf of kids. Youth workers include: child care providers, coaches, youth ministers, after-school program organize, recreational leaders, etc. After years of work in youth issues (and depend of the country and area of E.U.) Youth workers still fight with problems related with recognition of youth work in general and also in personal level as a form of profession. It’s time to see how it’s possible to increase the visibility and recognition of Youth Work using new ways and tools of communication (like Social Media, Video, etc.)
Training issues
• A common language, or at least a growing ability to speak the different languages of recognition, is crucial to communication across the various sector and stakeholder groups.
• Recognition is a complex issue: Young People need to be recognized for a variety of things. They therefore need a variety of tools, instruments and approaches to recognition.
• Recognition of Youth workers, youth leaders and youth trainers was also a key area of debate.
• Develop a strategy for social recognition of youth work. This could be related to a European strategy to increase the visibility of youth work.
• Check new tools (like Social Media etc.) for recognition and visibility.
Participants
1) All candidates NGOs must apply using the enclosed PARTIII form.
This form should be sent directly to the Organizer no later than 28th of September 2012.
2) Partners selection results will be announced on 5th of October 2012 and only selected participants will be contacted. Due to the large number of applications expected, the organizer are not in a position to confirm candidates for the seminar. Accepted NGO’s will receive all relevant documents in advances by e-mail.
3) Its possible to participates NGO’s only from E.U. countries.
4) Each NGO participates with one (1) person with NOT any exception.
5) Participants don’t have any age limit (but it have to be greater than 18 years old).
6) All the participants will be supposed have experience in the Youth work.
Practical info’s
• The training will be hosted in the region of Athens.
• English will be the working language. Participants must have sufficient understanding of English.
• Participation fee are 50 Euro per person and it will be deducted from the reimbursement.
• VISA costs (if any) and other related costs covered 100%.
• Youth in Action cover the 70% of the travel cost and 100% hotel, food, local transports etc.
• Organizer is responsible for all the activities and costs, for this reason partners don’t have any preparation or partner activity cost.
