Summary:
The training focused on raising awareness, sharing experience and good practices for people active in the Youth sector as well as revising youth work practice to create a common perspective for countries where Youth Work is still not well recognized.

The Course
The training will be focused on raising awareness, sharing experience and good practices among participants, who are active in the field as well as revising youth work practice to create a common perspective for countries where Youth Work is still not well recognized. It will be a great opportunity to compare existing Youth Work institutions in your countries and to foster future international cooperation in order to raise a quality of identification and recognition of the Youth Work in Central, Northern and Eastern Europe (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, UK)
Objectives:
By the end of the training programme:
Learners will be able to identify and discuss where key moments in history have led (reactive and preventative) to the progression of Youth Work practice
• Learners will be able to identify and explain common professional standards and expectations that a Youth Worker will seek to adhere to;
• Learners will be able to define what non formal learning and informal education are and define the similarities and differences between the two;
• Learners will be able to define what a reflective practitioner is and the benefits of reflective practice within their own work environment;
• Learners will be able to identify and use a range of approaches to working with young people based on good practice shared within the learning environment.
Intercultural evening
Participants are welcome to share their culture, believes and traditions during the intercultural evening. Please bring with you a taste of your music or material culture as well as food or drinks.
Profile of participants and deadline for application
This training course is designed for young professionals who can describe themselves as youth workers. They should have broader knowledge on the history and presence day of the youth work of their country, as well as newest trends in defining the youth sector. They should have significant youth work experience such as: at least one year working as a youth worker or one youth project for at least 30 youngsters lasted not less then 6 months. If you meet this short description please fill the application form attached and send it by email before 2nd September 2012. Selections should take place by the end of July, and if successful we will begin the process of supplying you with all the other information and material that is required for the course. Participants are expected to take part in whole training, starting from 7 p.m. on the 10th September and finishing on 15th September. You will find the training timetable at the bottom of this info kit. Please read it before you arrive.
Costs:
This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Participants will be reimbursed up to 70% of their travel costs. Accommodation and food costs are covered.
