Summary:
The main aim of the training course is to discuss the advantages of long-term partnerships between youth organisations from twinned municipalities (municipal support for such activities, etc.), which enable quality cooperation and long-term planning.
Target group: Youth workers.
For participants from:
South-East Europe, Youth in Action Programme Countries.
Group size: 24 participants.
Details:
This activity wants to offer space for the local youth organisations from twinned cities/ municipalities to establish contacts and explore possible future cooperation in the field of youth. This support measure is part of a 2-year initiative (2012-2013) supporting Slovenian municipalities in establishing local learning mobility schemes for young people together with their partner regions/municipalities. The seminar is hosted and organised by the Slovenian National Agency of the Youth in Action Programme in cooperation with the Hungarian, Croatian, Italian, Austrian and German YIA National Agencies and SALTO SEE RC.
Aim and objectives of the training course:
The main aim of the training course is to discuss the advantages of long-term partnerships between youth organisations from twinned municipalities (municipal support for such activities, etc.), which enable quality cooperation and long-term planning.
Objectives of the TC:
• To present the possibilities for cooperation in the frame of the YIA programme, in particular within the actions 1.1 and 1.3;
• To review the reasons for town-twinning in general and in particular cases of participants’ local communities;
• To give basic training in partnership building and project management, in particular within the frame of the Youth in Action Programme;
• To encourage partnership-building between the participating organizations;
• To identify the added value of such cooperation in the youth field.
• To discuss the local realities and share local practice.
Content of the training course:
In the training course participants will explore the links between local needs and realities and the priorities and objectives of the Youth in Action Programme. The activity will cover the basics related to a project cycle and project management and building of long-term quality partnerships. Participants will also have the opportunity to share their practises, their realities, and to discuss issues of their interest.
Profile of participants:
The training course is open to representatives of youth organisations from twinned municipalities from Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Italy, Hungary, Austria and Germany.
Participants can apply:
• In pairs: 1 representative of youth organisation together with 1 representative of youth organisation from their twinned municipality;
• Individually: 1 representative from youth organisation wishing to establish contacts with a partner from their twinned municipality.
Participants have to be:
• youth workers and youth leaders;
• capable of working in English language;
• coming from the countries stated above;
• 18 years old or older.
The maximum number of participants is 24.
Costs:
Accommodation, food and programme costs will be fully covered by the organisers. Travel costs to the seminar and back can be covered by the National Agencies of the Youth in Action Programme, so please contact your respective National Agency. In case of participants from South East Europe region (except Croatia, which has a NA), travel costs might be reimbursed by the Slovenian NA or SALTO SEE RC.
