Civic education training for youth workers from Poland, Germany, Romania, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia under the motto "No one is born a democrat"!

Details:
Democracy Agents is a seminar for young educators from Poland, Germany, Romania, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia. During a 6-day training participants learn how to facilitate active citizenship and how to foster democratic literacy and competence among young citizens of their countries. The motto of the training is: “No one is born a democrat” (T. Meyer). In both Western and Eastern Europe democracy is being challenged by crises, corruption, passive citizenship or abuse of power. Therefore it is necessary to wake young generation’s interest in democracy and teach them how to act and influence the system we all live in. During Democracy Agents young leaders and educators learn different didactical approaches and non-formal education methods for empowering citizens and fostering active citizenship in democratic societies.
The following methods will be tackled in detail:
• debate and discussion;
• co-operative learning;
• role play and simulation;
• biographical approach;
• open space session;
• intercultural learning.
Furthermore participants have a chance to exchange on their training experience, build new international networks and plan new projects together.

Costs:
Travel costs… will be reimbursed up to 70%.
Participants’ fee: 90 € participants from Germany, 50 € participants from Poland and Romania, 40 € for participants from Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.
