Summary:
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to Become a Trainer in Youth in Action (YiA) represents a concept for a series of Training of Trainers (ToT) modules co-organized by the National Agencies for YiA of Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania.
Target group: Trainers, Freelancers working with NAs.
For participants from: Youth in Action Programme Countries.
Group size: 25 participants.
Details:
The training is aiming at skills development and quality improvement within the national trainer pools in each country. The whole series incorporates four separate modules of 5-day in-house training courses hosted by each partner NA which offer specific input for trainers working on national level with YiA beneficiaries. The 4th module of the Hitchhiker’s Guide series is also called “Going International” as it aims at:
• The first module was held at the end of March, 25-31.03.2012 in Tochni, Larnaka, Cyprus and dealt with introduction to learning theories, non-formal education and roles of trainers. It was targeted at trainers’ newcomers in national pools.
• The second module was held in the period 23-27.07.2012 in Emen, Bulgaria and covered the topics of facilitating learning processes, presentation & communication skills, and conflict management. A special emphasis was put on a professional approach to trainings and ethics in relation with participants.
• The third module is scheduled for the period 14-19.10.2012 in Orahovica, Croatia and shall cover the topics of psychology in group dynamics, change management and the role of a trainer in coaching young people.
• The fourth module is planned for the period 27-31.012013 in Romania and shall cover the topics of trainers going international, developing common ideas to “sell” to NAs and their TCPs (to work on needs they have identified while working with young people). As a final module, the Romanian ToT shall deal with the personal development of trainers (not focused on skills but trainers as learners, coaching trainers, national support and professional approach, new challenges).
The 4th module has also been designed with a personal development emphases, is not focused on skills development but looking at trainers as individual learners, searching for motivation, inspiration and new stimuli to meet the challenges of youth work. Costs:
This project is financed by the Youth in Action Programme. Being selected for this course, all costs (accommodation and meals) relevant to participation in the course will be covered by the hosting NA. Regarding travel costs, please contact your NA to learn more about the financial details, and how to arrange the booking of your travel tickets and the reimbursement of your travel expenses.
